October 2009 - Scuola Calcio, Italian Premier Soccer School and Perugia Grifos are pleased to announce the 2010 Grifo Cup. The Grifo Cup 2010 is being held in the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. The tournament will be played July 30th-August 2nd 2010. This is a class “A” tournament for boys Under 12 through Under 17. All Federation’s sanctioned league passes are accepted..
Perugia Grifos USA Tournament Director, noted that "teams are already signing up this event and it looks like it will be totally booked." It was also noted that "families and friends are welcome to travel and take the time to visit the beautiful Pocono Mountains".
The Pocono Mountains is famous for its resorts, natural scenic beauty, 150 lakes including Lake Wallenpaupack, and the quaint, historical towns in the four county area. The Poconos in Pennsylvania have so much to offer to the adventurous soul.
Mr. Antonio Saviano, Scuola Calcio, Italian Premier Soccer School said: “the Grifo Cup is not just a tournament it is a scouting event, the staff will be selecting three players from the tournament to attend trials with AC Fiorentina’s youth sector from the Italian Serie A”.
All arrangements for selected players will be made on your behalf with AC Fiorentina from the Italian Serie A, OSA Soccer Academy (Italy) and the Perugia Grifos (USA).
Acceptance is done as "rolling acceptance". In other words, you could get accepted as early as a week after you apply or as late as a few weeks prior to the tournament. Applying early is always the best choice. Please make sure that your tournament registration is as accurate and complete as possible.
